ATLANTIC MUTUAL RANKS IN TOP FIVE FOR ZERO COMPLAINTS BY NEW YORKERS WITH AUTO INSURANCE
NEW YORK, NY, February 12, 2003 -- Atlantic Mutual is one of only five automobile insurers in New York State with no complaints lodged during 2002 by insured motorists with the state of New York, according to the New York State Insurance Department.
Atlantic Mutual ranked fourth among 51 auto insurance companies for the fewest complaints lodged and upheld with the department last year.
Nearly nine million private passenger vehicles are currently registered and insured in New York State. The Annual Auto Complaint Ranking is considered by the New York Insurance Department as a tool consumers can use to evaluate competing insurance companies.
An upheld complaint occurs when the Department agrees with a consumer that an insurer made an inappropriate decision. The report ranks insurers from best (lowest complaint ratio) to worst (highest complaint ratio).
