About The Atlantic Companies®

The Atlantic Companies, also known as Atlantic Mutual, is a group of diversified financial services companies with a Wall Street heritage dating back to 1842.

We began with an innovative group of New York City shipowners who were seeking improved insurance protection. Over the years, The Atlantic Companies developed a reputation for attracting the highest quality customers and paying all just claims promptly and fairly.

We earned our reputation by being there when it counted for our policyholders through such disasters as the Great New York Waterfront Disaster of 1853, the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, Hurricane Hugo in 1989, and the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.

Today, The Atlantic Companies continues to deliver on its promise of always being there when it counts. Through the Atlantic Master Plan program and our strategic alliance with Countrywide Insurance Group, we concentrate on serving the personal insurance needs of individuals with substantial assets to protect. We also act as a primary property & casualty insurer, manage claims for commercial insurance, and help other business partners target profitable niches in the insurance marketplace.

The Atlantic Companies includes Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company, Centennial Insurance Company, Atlantic Risk Services, and Atlantic Companies Holding Corp.

We employ several hundred people around the country. Our home office is in New York City, with administrative offices in Madison, New Jersey. Our customer service center is in Salem, Virginia.
